Lizzy McGee

FOUNDER & CEO

Lizzy McGee is the founder and CEO of TexasLand USA, set to become Houston's only theme park and a permanent showcase of the best of Texas. As a sixth-generation Texan (or eighth-, depending on how you slice it), Lizzy is passionate about creating a quality, safe, and affordable destination in her home state where families can make memories together across generations.

Lizzy began her career on The Walt Disney Company's Global Development team, the M&A and consulting group within Parks, Experiences, and Products focused on domestic and international new business development across Parks, Resorts, retail, and merchandising. There, she built the financial models and business plans behind major initiatives, including a nearly $1 billion acquisition, new Parks experiences, and potential regional hotels. She also helped shape the company's early approach to non-fungible tokens, developing an evaluation framework later adopted by Disney Accelerator and ESPN, and scouted real estate for Disney Storyliving, a themed residential community for active adults, working directly with Imagineering and outside developers.

Lizzy also spent time in development, master planning, and strategy at Parques Reunidos, a global leisure park operator, where she developed the creative concept for a €25 million hotel addition to Tropical Islands Resort outside Berlin and led a post-mortem analysis of the company's acquisition of Adventureland Resort in Des Moines, Iowa.

Since founding TexasLand in 2023, Lizzy has assembled a team who has designed, built, and operated some of the world’s most beloved parks – Disney, Universal, Dollywood – and she firmly believes Texas deserves a park on that list. The project is backed by energy and hospitality investors from across the country and has been validated by an independent market demand study from Entertainment + Culture Advisors, whose clients include Universal and Legoland. Together with the founding team, Lizzy has partnered with local artists to bring Texas history and folklore to life in the park's original characters and storylines. She’s also partnered with civic leaders at the Greater Houston Partnership, Houston First, the Office of the Governor, and various municipal Economic Development teams to understand how TexasLand can best serve the state’s employment and economic development goals.

Lizzy received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She earned her BA summa cum laude from Princeton University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, awarded the C.O. Joline Prize in American History, and proudly served as captain of the cheer team.

Lizzy dedicates her time to various faith-based organizations, most recently serving on the Advisory Board of Princeton University's Faith & Work Initiative (now housed in the Avodah Institute). She also serves on the Advisory Board of The Bryan Museum and is an active member of its Delegados, supporting the Museum's mission to preserve and share Texas history through one of the largest collections of Texana in the country. That same pull toward Texas storytelling carries into cinema: Lizzy is a producer of independent Texas film, with recent credits including Set Me Free and Good Night. She enjoys running, performing, collecting vinyl, and being an aunt.
