Mark Carleton
advisory board

Mark Carleton brings over four decades of financial leadership across media, entertainment, and communications, including nearly two decades at Liberty Media Corporation - the powerhouse behind Formula One, Live Nation, the Atlanta Braves, and SiriusXM - led by “Cable Cowboy” John Malone.
At Liberty, Mark held a series of senior executive roles - Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer, and ultimately Chief Financial Officer - with primary financial responsibility for six of Liberty's publicly traded entities. Throughout, he played a central role in building Liberty's portfolio of live, experiential entertainment assets. Mark led Liberty's $8 billion acquisition of Formula One from CVC Capital Partners in 2016, taking the century-old motorsport onto Nasdaq and setting the stage for its growth into a global phenomenon. He also carried board continuity through Live Nation's 2010 merger with Ticketmaster, a $2.5 billion combination that created the world's leading live-entertainment and ticketing company. Mark moved from Ticketmaster's board onto the newly formed Live Nation Entertainment's board, where he served for more than a decade. As a director of the Atlanta Braves' parent entity - the Atlanta National League Baseball Club - he also helped guide the team's move to Cobb County and the 2017 opening of Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use district that has become a model for stadium-anchored real estate development nationwide. Mark moved into a senior advisory role in 2019, continuing to oversee Liberty's investments in Formula One, Live Nation, the Atlanta Braves, and SiriusXM through 2021.
Mark also served on the boards of SiriusXM, Barnes & Noble, and DIRECTV, bringing his specialized accounting and governance expertise to some of the country's best-known media and consumer brands.
Through September of 2025, Mark served as a Senior Advisor to Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management arm of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund, and is Chairman of the Limited Partner Advisory Committee at Alignment Growth. He previously sat on the boards of DG Innovate, a sustainable mobility company, and Reef Technology, a major North American parking and delivery-kitchen operator, and has served as President of the Board of Directors of U.S. Speedskating since 2014. He currently is a General Partner of SWISH Partners, an investment entity focused on Women’s sports globally and Clara Vista Investment Partners, an investment entity with a number of investments, including UK Premiere League team Ipswich Town.
Mark is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and he is a retired Certified Public Accountant. He spent two decades at KPMG, ultimately serving as Partner and National Industry Director for Telecommunications and on the firm's board of directors, before joining Liberty Media in 2003. On the personal side, Mark and his wife, Brisa Carleton, split their time between Mark's ongoing board work and Brisa's creative pursuits. Brisa is a Tony Award-winning Broadway producer whose credits include Hamilton, Beautiful, and Moulin Rouge. She recently published her debut novel, Last Call at the Savoy, set inside London's storied Savoy Hotel. The two are proud grandparents to a Texas-born grandchild, giving Mark one more reason to root for TexasLand.
Mark has served as a member of TexasLand's Advisory Board since 2025, lending his decades of financial, media, and entertainment expertise to the company's growth and capitalization strategy. Like TexasLand, Mark believes the future belongs to live entertainment, and that portfolios overweighted in tech and energy have room to diversify into the experience economy.
